Loose tobacco, often sold in pouches, is the unrolled, shredded leaf used for hand-rolling cigarettes. Unlike pre-made smokes, it lets you control how much tobacco goes in each roll, which some prefer for a more tailored smoke. The aroma is typically richer and less processed than that of factory-made cigarettes, though this can vary widely by brand and origin. Many smokers find the ritual of rolling itself to be meditative, a small pause in a busy day.
